Teaching Professional
After a short time away to focus on her two young sons and family, Emily will return to the lesson tee on a limited basis at Aces Indoor Golf Club. All lessons will be conducted indoors. There are 7 hitting bays with State of the Art technology, Foresight Falcon simulators and Puttview technology available to help guide lessons with instant visual feedback for the student and instructor.
Emily was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois. She graduated from Methodist University in December 2007 with a degree in Business Administration, a minor in leadership studies, and a concentration in Professional Golf Management. In January 2008 she received her PGA Class A Membership and became Level 1 TPI Certified in golf fitness in December 2008.
She was a member of Methodist’s National Championship golf team bringing home the Championships in 2006 and 2007 for the 9th and 10th straight year and finishing 6th and 5th individually in the nation at the Division III level.
Emily joined the Jim McLean Golf Center ~ Texas in the Fall of 2012 to follow her passion to teach. Throughout her time there she had the opportunity to learn from some of the top instructors in the industry. In July 2013 she became the Junior Academy Coordinator and was involved in coordinating the students day-to-day activities.
Emily teaches all aspects of the game; which includes full swing, short game, mental management, and Course Management. When beginning to make changes to the student’s swing she uses corridors not exact positions to teach within as well as being aware of her student’s learning style as she believes that no two swings are alike nor is one’s learning style.
From 2014-2019 she worked at Club Corp’s Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas. Starting as an assistant and eventually became the Director of Instruction. She worked with all ages and abilities as well as taught many Summer Camps, Junior Clinics, ran PGA Junior Leagues, and Adult Clinics.
The key is to have fun and enjoy playing while always keeping a positive attitude when learning this challenging game. She will work as a team with her student to create an action plan to achieve their goals.
